This Republican Was Forced to Leave the Senate After a Coronavirus Diagnosis

The coronavirus outbreak is wreaking havoc across America.

Congress is no different.

And now this major Republican was forced to leave the Senate after a coronavirus diagnosis.

As American Patriot Daily reports:

The hardest part about dealing with this novel coronavirus that originated in Wuhan, China last November is not its death rate.

Both SARS and MERS were far more deadly than the Chinese coronavirus but they were easily contained because patients got very ill and were only contagious after they showed symptoms.

Most people who get the Chinese coronavirus take between 3-14 days to show symptoms which is a wide range, and a large percentage of people who get it don’t even show symptoms at all.

The bad side of this is that it does make this coronavirus hard to control, but the good side is that once testing is more widespread among the population, the death rate that is currently being reported is probably going to drop dramatically.

Many people are going to get this virus but most people will recover and many people will not even realize they got it.

Last week, two members of the House tested positive for coronavirus.

Senator Rand Paul just tested positive for the virus.

“Senator Rand Paul has tested positive for COVID-19,” Paul’s staff wrote on Twitter. “He is feeling fine and is in quarantine. He is asymptomatic and was tested out of an abundance of caution due to his extensive travel and events. He was not aware of any direct contact with any infected person.”

“He expects to be back in the Senate after his quarantine period ends and will continue to work for the people of Kentucky at this difficult time,” Paul’s thread continued. “Ten days ago, our D.C. office began operating remotely, hence virtually no staff has had contact with Senator Rand Paul.”

The Surgeon General warned the American people to brace themselves for the coming week.

More Americans are going to test positive in the coming weeks.

The good news is that current data suggests that 95% of cases are mild while 5% are serious or critical.

This isn’t to say that the Chinese coronavirus isn’t serious, it’s at least 10 times deadlier than the flu.

Everyone should be listening to the regulations that federal and state authorities release as guidelines on social distancing.

But the main threat is that there’s no herd immunity so the medical system could easily become overloaded if everyone gets it at the same time.

Luckily the testing that’s become available is allowing America to start catching cases early and stops people from unwittingly passing it to others because they don’t seem to be ill at all.

According to one study, 13% of Americans think they could have coronavirus but even out of the people who are getting tested, only 10% actually have it.

As more people are getting tested, the number of people who have coronavirus will look scarily high but it will include people like Rand Paul who are not seriously sick.

American Patriot Daily wishes Senator Rand Paul a speedy recovery and good health to all our readers.
