One of Trump’s Most Trusted Allies Just Resigned for This Game-Changing Reason

Donald Trump’s White House just received another shakeup.

It comes at a time when President Trump’s political fortunes hang in the balance.

And one of Trump’s most trusted allies just resigned for this game changing reason.

As Conservative Revival reports:

North Carolina Congressman Mark Meadows is the Chairman of the conservative House Freedom Caucus and one of Donald Trump’s strongest allies in Congress.

On March 6 the President announced via social media that Meadows would take over as chief of staff from Mick Mulvaney.

“I want to thank acting chief Mick Mulvaney for having served the Administration so well. He will become the United States Special Envoy for Northern Ireland. Thank you,” President Trump wrote.

But for over three weeks Meadows existed in a state of limbo as he retained his seat in Congress while at the same time attending White House meetings and attempting to put a team in place.

With the coronavirus pandemic ramping up and the 2020 election right around the corner Donald Trump could not wait any longer to have a chief of staff in place.

That’s why Meadows finally submitted a letter of resignation to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

“Dear Madam Speaker, I write today to inform you that I will resign from the House of Representatives, effective 5:00pm Monday, March 30. Serving the people of North Carolina’s eleventh congressional district for these last seven years has been the honor of my life. I will forever be grateful for the opportunity. Thank you, and God bless you all in the days ahead,” Meadows wrote to Pelosi.

Meadows later released a statement expressing his gratitude to the voters in his district for sending him to Congress.

“This was a decision I struggled with greatly,” Meadows declared. “These last 8 years, I have been so blessed to serve the people of NC-11 and help give a voice to millions of Americans who feel Washington, DC has forgotten them.”

Donald Trump is entering one of the most pivotal months any President has ever faced.

The President agreed to the recommendation of health experts such as Dr. Anthony Fauci and Dr. Deborah Birx and shut the country’s economy down until April 30.

That decision – designed to slow the spread of the coronavirus outbreak – also rounds the nation’s economy to a halt.

Some estimates predict the second quarter will show GDP growth declined over 30 percent and that unemployment could reach Great Depression levels.

The President needs to balance the health experts – who always lean towards overreaction – with the economic concerns of the population.

If the government shuts down the country for too long there will be no economy for workers to return to when the health experts finally give the all clear.

To make that decision the President needs advisors he can trust.

Mark Meadows in the White House will provide the President the support system he needs.
