Mitt Romney lost the 2012 election because he refused to attack Barack Obama.
Now with Donald Trump fighting for a second term Romney gave the GOP some more bad news.
And that’s because Mitt Romney agreed with Barack Obama on fight that left Trump seeing red.
As Great American Daily reports:
President Trump warned Americans that the Democrats’ demands to switch to a universal vote-by-mail scheme for the November election was an invitation for fraud, delayed vote counts and general chaos.
The facts back up President Trump’s concerns.
In a Paterson, New Jersey city council election, authorities charged four individuals including one council member with voter fraud in an election where 19 percent of the mail-in ballots were disqualified.
Five weeks after their primary, no one knows the winner of a New York Democrat congressional primary because of delays in vote counting.
And across the presidential primaries, 65,000 mail-in ballots were thrown out across the nation, which is enough to swing a close election.
But despite the mountain of evidence that switching to a vote-by-mail scheme opens the door to an election where the results would be under a cloud as the winner may not be known for weeks, Romney praised vote-by-mail.
Romney told NAACP President Derrick Johnson and far-left activist and so-called “reporter” April Ryan that he had complete faith in vote-by-mail.
“I, for one, believe that vote by mail is a more secure system because if we think there’s been voter fraud or machines have been tampered with, we can always go back to the paper copy, we can compare signatures, we can talk to the person to see if they actually voted, we can find out if they are dead or alive,” Romney stated. “All these things are available if we have a ballot with a name on it.”
Romney also falsely claimed that despite vote-by-mail circumventing voter ID laws, it was still possible to secure the integrity of the election by mailing out hundreds of millions of ballots willy nilly.
“I now live in Utah and have for a decade. In Utah, we have vote by mail. And the great majority of our people—I’ll bet it’s close to 90 percent—vote by mail. And let me tell you, it’s very convenient,” Romney added. “We haven’t had problems with voter fraud. And I think states would be wise to put in a program like that.”
Finally, Romney claimed that by not embracing voting by mail, America was a racist country.
“One thing that really concerns me is when I see videos on my TV that show that in certain places, there are lines a mile long and those tend to be places where minority communities are voting. And in other places there’s no line at all,” Romney said. “Something tells me that’s not right. I know that’s not right. And if state officials are putting up with that kind of discrimination and that type of voter suppression, there’s gotta be oversight of that.”
