Joe Biden is set to make his Vice Presidential selection in the coming weeks.
Give the questions surrounding Joe Biden’s cognitive decline most Americans believe the Vice President would be running the country.
Joe Biden’s VP got leaked by the last person any ever suspected.
As Great American Daily Reports:
Sen. Kamala Harris at first glance would seem like a natural choice for vice president.
She’s the only minority woman who ran for the Democratic nomination who would be considered by the Democratic Party, since Tulsi Gabbard is too much of a moderate to be tolerated and Elizabeth Warren lied about her Native American heritage.
But Kamala Harris has a problematic past that lost her the nomination and may destroy her chances of being vice president.
A single exchange with Tulsi Gabbard where Gabbard revealed Harris’s past as a prosecutor made Harris sink like a stone in the polls.
“She put over 1,500 people in jail for marijuana violations and then laughed about it when she was asked if she ever smoked marijuana,” Gabbard said in the Democratic presidential primary debate.
“She blocked evidence that would have freed an innocent man from death row until the courts forced her to do so,” Gabbard added. “She kept people in prison beyond their sentences to use them as cheap labor for the state of California.”
Harris couldn’t refute the allegations then, and she can’t now, but they have been removed from Wikipedia,The Intercept found.
The article mentioned that when a vice president pick is announced, one of the places many voters go for information is Wikipedia.
In 2016,The Atlantic ran an article on how Hillary Clinton’s running mate, Sen. Tim Kaine’s Wikipedia page was significantly edited before the announcement was made, and in 2008 the Washington Post found 65 edits on Sarah Palin’s Wikipedia page.
The changes to Harris’s Wikipedia page certainly place her in a more positive light.
“At least one highly dedicated Wikipedia user has been scrubbing controversial aspects of Harris’s ‘tough-on-crime’ record from her Wikipedia page, her decision not to prosecute Steve Mnuchin for mortgage fraud-related crimes, her strong support of prosecutors in Orange County who engaged in rampant misconduct, and other tidbits,” The Intercept reported.
A Reddit user who had a good memory thought back to the 2016 Atlantic article and wrote a Jupyter script to track which candidate had the most edits over the course of three weeks.
The results were that Harris had 408, Stacey Abrams had 66, Warren had 22, and Klobuchar had a mere four.
It is not definitive proof that Harris has been chosen to be Biden’s vice president but her odds certainly do look good.
The problem is that cleaning up Harris’s Wikipedia page isn’t enough to clean up her record.
