Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer was one of the heavy favorites for Joe Biden to select as his running mate.

But Whitmer just got some bad news.

That’s because Gretchen Whitmer got linked to one violation of the law that cost her the VP nod.

Joe Biden promised to pick a woman as his running mate.

That immediately elevated Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer to the top of the list.

But Whitmer’s chances evaporated as she drowned in scandal surrounding her disastrous performance handling the coronavirus outbreak.

A new controversy erupted when Whitmer extended the state’s lockdown until June 12 and warned Michiganders about traveling to the Upper Peninsula for Memorial Day weekend to put their boats in the water.

“If you don’t live in these regions … think long and hard before you take a trip into them,” Whitmer stated.

“A small spike could put the hospital system in dire straits pretty quickly,” Whitmer added. “That’s precisely why we’re asking everyone to continue doing their part. Don’t descend on Traverse City from all regions of the state.”

But Governor Whitmer’s husband ignored the rules because Democrat elites think the rules don’t apply to them.

Tad Dowker – the owner of NorthShore Dock, LLC – posted to Facebook that prior to Memorial Day weekend, he got a call from the Governor’s husband asking for his boat to go to the head of the line ahead of the rest of the customers.

Dowker noted that Memorial Day weekend was one of the busiest times of the year and this would not be possible.

“This morning, I was out working when the office called me, there was a gentleman on hold who wanted his boat in the water before the weekend,” Dowker wrote. “Being Memorial weekend and the fact that we started working three weeks late means there is no chance this is going to happen.”

Dowker claimed the man then pulled out the “do you know who I am?” card and stated that he was the Governor’s husband.

“Well our office personnel had explained this to the man and he replied, ‘I am the husband to the governor, will this make a difference?’” Dowker wrote.

Governor Whitmer’s staff tried to indirectly confirm the story by refusing to comment in hopes it would just die down on its own.

“Our practice is not to discuss the governor’s or her family’s personal calendar/schedules. And we’re not going to make it a practice of addressing every rumor that is spread online,” spokeswoman Tiffany Brown told the press.

That failed to quell the controversy and Whitmer came up with a new excuse in a subsequent press conference.

“My husband made a failed attempt at humor last week,” Gov. Whitmer claimed.

Governor Whitmer also asserted that her husband merely went to their vacation house to rake leaves.

But Governor Whitmer didn’t tell residents to avoid the Upper Peninsula except if they had to do household chores.

She told them it would kill people by spreading coronavirus if they went to the lake.

This hypocrisy and growing political furor made Whitmer much less likely for Joe Biden to select as his running mate.
