The fake news media is already writing Donald Trump’s political obituary.
They look at his poll numbers and see a sure-fire loser President running for re-election.
But Donald Trump has this ace up his sleeve that will guarantee victory in 2020.
As American Patriot Daily reports:
President Donald Trump swept himself into office after riding a massive wave that saw Ohio, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania flip to the Republican column in the 2016 election.
And many of those states hadn’t voted for a Republican presidential candidate in decades.
But since taking office, Trump has had to contend with Democrats working overtime to get these once-Blue states back into the Democratic fold.
They have failed to do so.
Not only is the President in an excellent position to win re-election in 2020, but he has built himself such a massive advantage in the critical midwestern swing states that Democrats are now in full panic mode over how to combat the President’s edge.
Bloomberg reports, “Donald Trump, both as a candidate and as president, has assiduously targeted Rust Belt states with attention and policies — including tariffs — that he can point to as evidence that he made good on his promise to bolster American manufacturing, especially the steel industry.”
This is to be expected since the Midwest is what delivered Trump his victory over Hillary Clinton in the first place.
But what’s shocking about the current political landscape is just how far behind Democrats are in matching Trump’s investment in the Midwest, which is almost certainly going to serve as the key battleground of the 2020 election.
“That’s put Democrats running to replace him at risk of falling behind the president in states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and Ohio that will prove crucial to deciding who wins the White House. And so far, they’re not doing a lot to catch up,” adds Bloomberg.
There’s plenty of reasons to point to when making the argument that Trump’s campaign has a leg up over his Democratic rivals in states like Ohio and Michigan.
But in addition to having a larger campaign presence and far more money than the Democrats to get his message out to the voters, Trump also has one massive secret weapon that Democrats are dreading: The growing American economy.
“If anything, Trump’s hand has been strengthened. The manufacturing sector added 264,000 jobs in 2018, the biggest annual gain in two decades. And the steel industry, buoyed by Trump’s 25% tariffs that curbed imports, has added workers while making plans to invest billions in new mills and upgrading old ones. Payrolls for the steel industry in May were 85,700, up 5.6% from 81,100 at the end of the Obama era,” reports Bloomberg.
This is huge.
Trump campaigned on saving the economies of states like Michigan and won them when no other Republican since Ronald Reagan could.
And since taking office, he has made good on his promises.
Democrats can only attack Trump on superficial issues like his tweets because they know attacking him on the economy is only a dead end for them.
And unless they can make inroads with voters who elected Trump in 2016 based on their pocketbooks, they run the risk of losing the entire Midwest all over again in 2020.
Do you think Trump can win the Midwest again in next year’s election?
