Donald Trump Got Handed One Defeat That Proved This Truth About 2020

Everyone in Washington is looking for signs about how the 2020 Presidential Election will turn out.

Will Donald Trump win or will the Democrats succeed in ousting the President from now?

And now Donald Trump got handed one defeat that proved this truth about 2020.

As Conservative Revival reports:

The dominant media narrative of the Trump era is that voters in the suburbs – specifically women voters – abandoned the Republican Party in droves out of disgust with Donald Trump’s rhetoric and conduct.

A suburban revolt powered the Democrats’ victories in the 2017, 2018 and 2019 off-year elections.

But were these victories due to suburban voters changing their party voting patterns or because suburban Democrats were more fired up to vote than suburban Republicans because Donald Trump was not on the ballot?

For all the talk of Donald Trump trashing the GOP’s image in the suburbs, Donald Trump won the suburban vote by five percentage points in 2016.

That was an improvement at the performance by Mitt Romney – the avatar of establishment Republicanism that the suburbs supposedly long for – when he carried these areas by two points in 2012.

Now new evidence is emerging that the Republican Party’s suburban erosion is an overhyped media narrative that may just be the case of Trump voters not showing up to the polls since the President wasn’t on the ballot.

A new report by reveals that President Trump received more contributions of $200 or more from women than any other candidate running for President.

“Suburban women who give large-dollar donors favor Trump, Harris and Biden. Since Trump’s inauguration, more than 7,000 women in suburban districts have given large-dollar contributions to his campaign. That totals $8 million, the most of all candidates, according to an OpenSecrets analysis of Federal Election Commission data on large itemized donations (more than $200) to all major presidential candidates and using CityLab’s Congressional Density Index,” reported.

A deeper dive into the numbers shows the fake news media’s claim that formerly Republican women in the suburbs turned against the President is all just lies and wishful thinking.

In 2016, 28 percent of the Trump campaign’s itemized contributions – donations of $200 or more – came from women.

That number increased by 25 percent for the 2020 cycle to 35 percent.

Fundraising can be seen as a proxy for voter enthusiasm.

By these numbers, women are more enthusiastic to vote for Donald Trump than they were four years ago.

Democrats received near presidential level turnout in the 2018 midterms.

The left’s turnout was also supercharged in 2017 and 2019.

Polls also show that voters are more interested in the 2020 election now than at any similar point in polling history.

The Trump campaign’s fundraising numbers with suburban women should give caution to any Democrat that thinks a high turnout election dooms Trump in 2020.

Democrats are nearly maxed out on the voter turnout while Trump and the Republicans still have room to grow.
