The Democrats’ problems are piling up.
Nancy Pelosi and other party leaders are looking to hold back the tide on a wave of negative news that could hand Republicans the 2020 election.
And this Democrat sex scandal took an insane twist with this one arrest.
If Katie Hill had been a Republican, her career would have been done for good the moment that she admitted she had a three-way with a campaign staffer and an affair with a congressional staffer.
The former Congresswoman who was a big proponent of the #MeToo movement then acted like a victim because her illegal affair got her into trouble.
She went around the media saying that there was a huge double standard for women and that she was a victim of revenge porn.
She is in fact the first woman ever to come under a House ethics investigation for sexual misbehavior.
She thinks because her affairs were bisexual, that must be why she’s come under fire.
There are other bisexual members of Congress who don’t lose their jobs because they’re smart enough not to sleep with their staff.
Yet the media has been trying to give Katie Hill a chance to redeem herself.
Just last week she was on ABC News and had a chance to explain that the real reason she had to resign was because of “biphobia,” and because she was a woman.
There’s no reason that the Democrats should try and whitewash a woman whose ethical standards are clearly subpar.
It’s come back to bite them, as a member of her campaign was just arrested by the FBI for attacking Katie Hill’s primary rivals in 2018.
According to the Daily Wire:
Authorities “arrested Arthur Dam in connection with a hacking spree that disrupted the 2018 Democratic California primary that ultimately nominated Katie Hill,” The Intercept reported. “Dam, in the criminal complaint, is linked directly to the Hill campaign.”
Dam’s wife, Kelsey O’Hara, was Hill’s fundraiser during the campaign and, after Hill was elected, became Hill’s district director.
“During the campaign, the websites of Hill’s opponents, Democrats Jess Phoenix and Bryan Caforio, who was supported by Justice Democrats, were both attacked, though Hill’s never was, raising suspicions at the time that Hill’s campaign was behind them,” The Intercept added. “One major attack on Caforio’s campaign website came at a crucial moment, just an hour before the biggest debate of the primary, the complaint notes. Hill eventually won the California primary by fewer than 3,000 votes.”
In a statement to The Intercept, Caforio called into question the legitimacy of Hill’s win given the fact that the FBI was alleging that someone tied to her allegedly attacked his campaign during a critical time in the race.
“I’m absolutely shocked and saddened to learn today that Katie Hill’s campaign associates hacked my campaign in order to help her advance through the primary,” Caforio said. “This should serve as a reminder that Russia is not the only threat to our democracy. There are bad actors on all sides who will do anything for their own personal gain, and we need to come together as Americans to defend our country and hold everyone responsible accountable.”
It’s a huge problem that Democrats are refusing to hold their own accountable to high ethical standards.
If they’re willing to overlook Katie Hill’s ethical standards, what other less public ethical lapses are they willing to overlook to push their own agenda?
